A new era at Sri Siam – after almost 30 years!

Dear guests, dear partners, dear friends of Sri Siam,

Today I am writing an email I have been looking forward to for weeks. A new era is beginning at Sri Siam, and I want you to be the first to hear about it.

In 1997, my wife and I founded Sri Siam Holidays. Just the two of us, with one desk, one telephone and a motto that said it all: Small and Beautiful. Stay small, know every guest, have travelled every route ourselves. A family business, and we were proud of it.

And then something happened that every founder dreams of: it worked. And how! Two people became a team, hotel and transfer bookings became tailor-made round trips and island hopping, guests became regulars who come back every year, and contacts became partners we have now worked with for many years. At some point we stood there and had to laugh: Small and Beautiful? We had not been small for a long time. We had outgrown our family business like a favourite jumper.

So, after almost 30 years, we are opening a new chapter, for both sides of this story. For the big and for the small!

First, the big: Thailand remains our home. But our journeys stopped ending at the border long ago: we already plan tailor-made tours in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia and Malaysia. We are now significantly expanding precisely this offer. To do so, we are growing our network of local partners and travelling to these countries even more often ourselves: we inspect hotels, drive the routes and get to know new places. That way, our travel consultants can advise you from first-hand experience.

For almost 30 years we have planned trips for guests from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. That remains our heart. And there is something new: in future we will also welcome English-speaking guests. I look forward to presenting two new partner websites for the English-speaking market to you soon. And our team is growing too: since this summer, Lek has been with us as a new travel consultant.

Introducing: Sri Siam Leisure

Sri Siam Leisure is our new company for everything Sri Siam has become over these years: individual round trips, island hopping, group tours, excursions and multi-country tours through Southeast Asia, and for everything we are planning for Sri Siam in the years ahead. With a name that finally fits what we do, and with many new things we are already looking forward to.

And now the small. Sri Siam Holidays stays, and I am almost even happier about that: it will once again be what it was in 1997. A small family business, now strengthened by my daughter, Alisa Zimmer, with a focus on the Thai market and as a training ground for the next generation, who will learn here how we understand travel. Small and Beautiful, this time literally again.

The best part: almost nothing changes for you, because the team stays and our guides and drivers, whom many of you have known for years, will continue to accompany you as always.

I wanted you to hear this from me personally. Not because much changes for you, but because after almost 30 years I am truly proud that there is room for both: the big thing it has become, and the small thing it all began with. Here’s to the new era, to you, and to the next 30 years!
